Diageo, the global leader in spirits, is placing its trust in a homeboy, having appointed a senior Nigerian manager, Seni Adetu as its new CEO for Guinness Nigeria Plc. Adetu will replace Devlin Hainsworth who has been posted to Kenya. Adetu is the first Nigerian to be appointed CEO since the late Raph Alabi who served from 1994 to 1996 when he moved on to become chairman. Adetu is currently the CEO and Group Managing Director of EABL and will assume duty as Managing Director/CEO of Guinness Nigeria on July1, 2012 according to a statement by company chairman Babatunde Savage. Adetu has led East African Breweries Limited, EABL since July 2009 and prior to this role, he served as Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited after joining Guinness from Coca Cola in 2006. Mr Seni Adetu Group Managing Director East African Breweries Limited December 4 has come and gone, as agreed at our inaugural meeting that we should hold this youth meeting every 2 months, the attendance was not as many as the on one held on the second day of Ileya, we had 9 people attending. Some necessary decisions were taking. I attended the general elders family meeting held every 3rd Sunday of each Month, and we were advised to appoint some one as either the Chairman or the President of the Youths. At the Last Youth Meeting two names were suggested, Segun Adetu and 'seni Adetu after much arguments it was put to vote and Seni Adetu pull 8 to 1 person saying no!. Other decisions taking were that the president will be the one to choose his vice who will be standing in for him and also will be furnishing the President about going on at the Meeting.
