Oshin Adetu's burial

The Legacy of Seidu Osin Adetu: A Community’s Tribute in Agbawo On the 13th of November, 1939, at approximately 1:45 p.m., our great-great-grandfather, Seidu Osin Adetu, passed away. His death marked a significant moment for our family and the community in Agbawo, a settlement within Oke Ariko village, under the present-day Sagamu Local Government in Ogun State, Nigeria. Far from being just an end, his passing became a powerful reflection of the unity, respect, and communal spirit he inspired, as demonstrated by the contributions made toward his burial in Agbawo. In the traditions of the Remo people, particularly in Agbawo, honoring the departed involves the collection of funds known as Owo Iwolefu —money gathered to support burial rites, including the purchase of a cow ( eran ) for the ceremony. The carefully recorded contributions for Seidu Osin Adetu’s burial, preserved through the years, showcase the generosity of family, friends, and neighbors, as well as the deep ties he cultiv...

Olayiwola Adetu

Olayiwola Adetu with Pa Labinjo OLAYIWOLA  ADETU is DEAD Honourable Olayiwola Waheed Adetu is dead, he died at the age of 85 years old after complaining of weaknesses and was taken to an hospital in Sagamu, where he died on arrival. 'layiwola as fondly called by my Late father, Aaree Afolabi Adetu is a man of peace. He was a councillor in 1976 under ijebu Remo Local government. He left for london in 1965 and lived in London for 10 years, no wonder he was known as Olayiwola Adetu of London, a party in London in those days is not complete without him and his friends not being around. I was told he went to London in the same plane with Otunba Adebayo (kal and Kay insurance), this was confirmed to me by otunba himself. When he returned to Nigeria he became highly connected to the extent that, there is no office he does not know somebody. Between 1979-83 him and Uncle Alayo was a stunch supporter of NPN, at the tail end of 2nd republic his house and that of iya Eleba was marked burning....

She was a good mother to all, Ye Bolanle Adetu

The time in  the nation has been terrible,  what with the agitation of the youth trying to bring to an  end the arbitrary use of power by a department of the police force, which the titled as #EndSARS  this latter snowballed to #Endpolicebrutallity and #Endbadgovernance. It was embraced by all including the government,  but because of their not been Coordinated the movement was hijacked by the larger forces more than them while the IPOB used the tension in the society to run a reign of terror on Yoruba land destroying all notable place.  I was on twitter as @Abiwapele, I dropped my year phone to attend to something, my son came show me a post on facebook and said that somebody died in Sagamu, I discovered it's Ye Bolanle Adetu, Mrs Saudat Oorebowale Adetu, the wife of Olotu Abiwapele Adetu, she was ever smiling,  loving, amiable and do ready to welcome all with an open hand

Olu Adenowo Adebayo Somotun and Taiwo Tikare

Since my chance meeting on the internet with Temidayo Tikare I have come to realise that you don't find what you don't look for. I am a good student of history and a very intrusive person, I love to know things that happened a long time ago and if possible why they happened who and who took part, what was the outcome or reaction of others to it. Taiwo Tikare according to Temidayo Tikare left London in 1971-1972 when he Temidayo was a small boy leaving him with two brothers and their mother Betty Oyafunke, so I know if he is still alive will not be less than 78 years old, my instinct told me immediately to look for the following people to ask my questions from, people that are a little junior to my father Aaree Abdul Fatai Afolabi Adetu who died nine years ago at the age of 78, the person must be educated, the person should be from sagamu and will be an added advantage if the person was in London in the late sixties till early seventies. In school we were taught that our imm...
